Heimann Sensor GmbH is a world leader in high quality infrared thermopile sensors, thermopile modules and thermopile arrays for remote temperature measurement, gas analysis, infrared imaging, building automation, person and hot spot detection. Other products are pyroelectric detectors, vacuum sensors, pressure sensors, infrared sources. Every year Heimann launches new IR sensors, modules or arrays, which exceed existing products on the market by smaller size or higher performance. Recently the company announced a new line of infrared imaging sensors with 8x8, 16x16, 32x32 or 80x64 pixels, which do not require shutters and can be factory temperature calibrated.

Today Heimann Sensor is technology leader in infrared sensors for contactless temperature measurement, gas detection and infrared imaging based on thermopile arrays. Products and services

Thermopile sensors can be used to determine surface temperatures or to measure certain gas concentrations. Our thermopile sensors are typically equipped with a thermistor reference to determine the housing temperature. The sensors are available in TO and SMD packages. Heimann thermopile modules are thermopile sensors with integrated signal processing. They are consisting of thermopile chips and integrated circuits in same housing. We offer a variety of modules from fully calibrated non-contact thermometer with digital temperature output to analog sensors with fixed gain amplifiers. Thermopile arrays are used for infrared imaging, building automation, person and hot spot detection. Heimann Sensor offers a wide range of spatial resolutions with 8x8, 16x4, 16x16, 32x32 up to 80x64 pixels. A variety of different optics with 20x20 up 90x90degrees field of view fit the arrays to various applications. The array application sets make it possible that you can realize a fast and easy imaging solution for your PC.

Heimann Sensor presents...

... high resolution 80x64 Thermopile Arrays with various optics.

The new thermopile array module shows an increased number of sensitive pixels compared to any other thermopile array on the market.

Thanks to the internal 16 Bit AD-Conversion and an integrated EEPROM inside the TO8 case with integrated optics, the complete array can be provided as fully calibrated array with a 6 pin package. Using a SPI interface the calibration data and the stream of the pixel data can be read out.

We have designed six different optics to adapt the array´s field of view (FoV) to different applications from very wide 120x90 deg for room occupancy and person detection to only 12x9 deg FOV for far distance monitoring:

The frame rate can be chosen up to 22 Hz with the full 16 bit resolution and can achieve >100 Hz for a lower ADC resolution. NETD values reach 150….300 mK for standard applications and down to about 50 mK for high resolution applications. Special optics allow to measure temperatures up to 1000 °C.

There is a wide range of different applications for the 80x64 Sensor. Besides industrial imaging, maintenance, process and traffic control, it can be used building automation, energy management, HVAC as well as security, person and fire detection, fever and Hot Spot detection.
